My love for racing started young. I was only 3½ years old when I got behind the wheel of a go-kart. My racing career really took off in 1990 as “Rookie of the Year” in Professional Road Racing.

But my life was spinning out of control. A racing accident in 1997 put me in a halo-body cast with four screws in my heard. I broke my neck in three places. I took a look at my life and realized racing had become my main focus, my every thought, my god. Racing consumed my life. I asked Jesus to forgive and heal me. God gave me back my dream; in 2001, I raced in NASCAR. The Bible says God knows everything. One of my favorite verses is I Corinthians 2:9: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived the great things God has in store for us.”

I try to put Jesus first in my life daily, and I look forward to the great things He has in store for me. You can too; do you trust Jesus with your life? Have you asked him to forgive you of your sins?
