Chaunte (Howard) Lowe grew up in poverty surrounded by adults trapped in drug addiction. She never knew her real father. But at the age of nine, her grandmother asked her if she would like to accept Jesus Christ into her life as God, the Father of the fatherless. She asked Christ to come into her life, and He has since given her strength and blessings to live her life with grace and dignity.

At the age of four, she had a desire to be a high jumper. Today she is a shining presence in the world of track and field. At the USA Outdoor Championships this year she publicly thanked the Lord for what He has done for her and for the talent He has given her.

Chaunte is married to Mario Lowe, a former All-American triple jumper from Florida State who still competes. He has also been a source of encouragement to her in their Christian faith.
