In 2000 being left off the Olympic team was a big disappointment. I understood though that it wasn’t God’s timing. I prayed that God would make me faster, and I worked harder. The marathon in Athens in 2004 was very hard for me, however I knew God was more than able to take me through. I knew from the start that the Lord was with me, and He blessed me with a silver medal. For me the silver medal was like a gold medal. Regardless of the situation though, Jesus is the only one who doesn’t change. The things of this world, including medals, will come to pass but the Lord will stand. It is my prayer that whatever I do, I do it in His Spirit.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
